I was kept well informed during my stay.
Can’t fault any department quick professional
Wonderful Doctors and Nurses and the paramedics
From east of England
First class hospital
I had a very good experience with the team of doctors and nurses
HCA staff were good throughout my full visit however I felt nursing staff were overworked and not supported by drs. The consultant I finally saw after being “in a&e” for over 7 hours - was dismissive of colleague’s diagnosis - stating radiographers are not drs! He also told me he wasn’t convinced my T5 was fractured and when I said am I to be believe him over 3 members of staff who said it is - he was dismissive of believing others over him as a consultant.
He said I supposed I could refer you for a CT however it isn’t fractured - in his opinion!
I finally left the department (self discharging myself) after being in the hospital 12 hours, following CT scan and being told it would be at least 5 hours for a consultant to read the CT results and feedback to me.
I asked if my GP could read the CT result in the morning and I was told they would be able too. Which they did and confirmed a fractured T5!
I felt that the consultant was very dismissive (not just of me but also other staff at the trust) - telling me I was walking straight and I wouldn’t be if I had a back fracture - and if I hadn’t insisted on a CT I would have left without knowing at all!
First day I was seen fairly quickly. The next day it was 10 hours.
On the second day after nine hours I was told I should be
In A&E. I said I had been seen by a doctor and awaiting
antibiotic injection and given a course of antibiotics.
It felt that the left hand didnt know what the right hand was doing.
People were being sent to wrong depts and this
help my anxiety.
I was dreading being kept in as it felt likeva third world
hospital. Most staff were caring specifically the
doctors. Admin staff seemed uninterested
and uncaring.
Was very pleased with the treatment I received and the time I was there
I was in pain.
After the surgery, when I woke I felt like a new born baby.
I slept and slept and slept waiting to get back into my old pain, till now it is no where to be found.
I went referred to the urgent care ward after speaking to 111 about concussion
Not one single staff member cared to listen to the accident, one person in particular put her hand to my face when ever I spoke which is extremely rude and ignorant
After waiting 4 hours, no one was able to tell me a wait time or whether I would be seen at any point. I was told to sit in a corridor and wait. On a hot day with chronic head ache and confusion I had to leave as my condition deteriorated and I couldn’t get help from a nurse or team member. I am absolutely disgusted with my experience at queens hospital.
The nurses and HCAs were appalling bad at giving information , and answering questions. With one exception, and she was helpful and kind.
The HCA taking regular obs, was monosyllabic, he grunted and looked at our wristbands to confirm who we were. If you dared to enter the clinical environment, the nurses would not make eye contact. Yes, they were busy, but when I did ask how long I might be, I was bluntly told we cannot say . I left feeling very upset.
Very long wait times. Did not know what was happing.
